The new RUPES ROTARY FLAT wool pads are designed for cutting applications in industrial, marine and automotive industries. Engineered for unmatched performance and versatility, they feature a flat surface with no foam interface for optimal efficiency. Full contact with the bodywork further increases cutting power. Their high correction power offers the perfect balance between twisted wool pads and cut-and-finish wool pads and they are ideal for aggressive applications with the Xtra Cut Compound – XC-2 and Rotary Coarse compounds.

How do you use the RUPES Rotary Flat Wool Polishing Pads pad?

  1. Choose the pad size according to your backing plate size (e.g., an 80mm RUPES size will fit a 75mm/3' machine backing plate).
  2. Center your mini pad on your backing plate.
  3. Thoroughly saturate the wool fibers of the pad (e.g., RUPES D-A Coarse Rotary Polish) on first use. Spread evenly over the wool with your finger. For future uses, 3 pea-sized drops of polish will be sufficient.
  4. Spread your polish quickly at low speed (900 rpm on a rotary) over a limited area (approximately 60x60cm).
  5. Then work your polish at high speed (1500-1800 rpm) for approximately 3 cross-hatch passes.
  6. Finish your work when the residual polish haze is very thin.
  7. Wipe off your polish with a suitable microfiber (e.g., COCKTAIL MICROFIBERS Black Velvet) using a small amount of finishing inspection spray (e.g., Reveal Lite RUPES). 
  8. Check your correction, then move on to a finishing step.

Tip: Remember to regularly clean your pad with a dedicated cleaning solution such as ZviZZer Pad Cleaner, to keep your pad completely free of polish dust and prevent the foam from becoming saturated. Your work and results will be much better. Spray Pad Cleaner directly onto the pad, massage the pad between your fingers, then wipe everything with a microfiber or place the pad in a Pad Washer.
