Description
These Coarse foam polishing pads for rotary polishing pads are intended for rotary polishers (e.g. RUPES LH19E) to get the maximum performance out of this pad. A heavy-correction pad for the removal of severe defects commonly found on clear coats such as pronounced micro-scratch hazing, medium to deep scratches, and gloss restoration. Ideally use the RUPES Rotary Coarse polish.
This highly abrasive pad is particularly recommended for working on clear coats known to be hard, such as German clear coats in particular.
The so-called "open-cell" foam structure will prevent heat build-up within the pad structure during polishing thanks to its multiple cells. This will allow a consistent level of performance to be maintained and increase the durability of the pad over time.
The minimum thickness of this pad (25mm) is intended to guarantee better contact with the rigid backing plates of rotary and roto-orbital polishers. Furthermore, the rounded edges of the pad prevent any damage to it when coming into contact with a slightly protruding detail (badge, grille, etc.).
A pad of excellent build quality, featuring in particular a very resistant hook-and-loop fastener and durable foam.

How to use the RUPES Coarse foam polishing pad for rotary?
- Be sure to choose the correct pad size according to your backing plate (e.g., an 80mm pad from RUPES fits a 75mm/3" machine backing plate).
- Center your spot pad on the backing plate.
- Apply a few pea-sized drops of compound or finishing polish (e.g., RUPES Rotary Coarse) onto the pad for initial use. Spread evenly across the foam with your finger. For subsequent passes, 2-3 pea-sized drops will suffice.
- Spread your polish quickly at low speed (900 RPM on the rotary) over a small working area (approx. 60x60 cm).
- Then work your polish at around 1,500–1,800 RPM (rotary) over approximately 3 cross-hatch passes.
- Finish your polishing cycle when the polish residue turns very clear/thin.
- Wipe off compound residue with a suitable microfiber towel (e.g., COCKTAIL MICROFIBERS Black Velvet) using a panel wipe / inspection spray (e.g., RUPES Reveal Lite).
- Inspect your finish and follow up with a protective wax or sealant.
Tip: Regularly clean your pad with a dedicated cleaning solution like ZviZZer Pad Cleaner to keep your pad completely free of polish residue and prevent fibers from clogging up. Your workflow and results will be significantly better. Spray Pad Cleaner directly onto the pad, massage the pad between your fingers, and wipe clean with a microfiber towel or run the pad through a Pad Washer.
