MANIAC AUTO, committed to always offering quality products tailored to your detailing needs, has developed a new wiping microfiber with no stitching (edgeless) to minimize the risk of creating micro-defects on your bodywork, and featuring two different types of fibers (double-sided): one side with long fibers and the other with much shorter fibers.

This microfiber, measuring 40cm x 40cm, was initially designed for wiping polishes but is also perfectly suited for wiping Quick Detailers/Quick Wax or for finishing buffing of natural or synthetic waxes.

Composition:

Made from polyamide and polyester, MANIAC AUTO wanted a slightly thicker (and therefore more absorbent) microfiber than its direct competitors on the market, in order to remain effective longer during buffing, especially on greasy substances. As a result, wiping polishes will no longer be a problem due to the saturation of standard microfibers. The Black Velvet is truly designed to maximize your wiping performance thanks to its high GSM (420gsm).

As seen in the photo, in comparison with a competing model, the fiber density and overall thickness are clearly visible.




Usage:

Several possible uses for this quality microfiber: buffing polishes above all, wiping natural waxes and sealants (as a second wipe rather — prefer a Bloody Mary for the first wipe thanks to its denser and longer fibers), wiping Quick Detailers and Quick Wax as well.


Wiping polishes becomes a true formality. We recommend a first wipe on the thick side and a second finishing wipe (on the fine side) to achieve a perfect finish. The high GSM of the Black Velvet provides a good grip and quality wiping from the very first pass.


Furthermore, wiping very greasy substances such as natural carnauba waxes often presents some difficulty in achieving a perfect finish. The Black Velvet will allow you to perform your second wipe safely without having to insist on the area (use an even thicker microfiber for the first wipe: Bloody Mary). Always finish with a final wipe on the fine fiber side for a top-quality finish.



Finally, the last possible use: applying and wiping Quick Detailers and Quick Wax. Very often, a microfiber that is too soft or with fibers that are too long will not allow good absorption, leaving a streak of product that is difficult to remove.
This is precisely where the Black Velvet makes the difference thanks to its two sides! Buffing the QD or QW becomes a formality. Long fibers for spreading and short fibers for wiping.
Be careful, however — since these products are very liquid and generally need to be used in large quantities, do not hesitate to use 2 or 3 Black Velvets to be able to cover a large vehicle in particular.

Our opinion:

Objectively speaking, the Black Velvet is THE versatile microfiber in the MANIAC AUTO range. It can do almost everything (except perhaps dry an entire vehicle unless you have several dozen of them...). The quality of its construction (edgeless, double-sided, GSM) already makes it a reference for all your detailing work, and more specifically for wiping polishes where it excels.
Its very competitive price compared to competing models (€4.95) and the fact that it is available in a pack of 6 (€22.95) will make it your best ally.
Its only drawback in our view, although this is a deliberate choice, is its color (black), which will not allow you to check the dirt removed after wiping interior cleaners or leathers, for example.
The Black Velvet also retains all its texture after multiple washes, always offering you safe wiping on your bodywork.
