Description:
AUTOGLYM offers here a fairly unique and very effective product to protect your wheels quickly: Wheel Protector.
Indeed, it is a product to be sprayed directly onto your wheels. No need for manual application, which can sometimes be long and tedious on intricate wheel designs.
Available in a 300ml aerosol, it will treat your four wheels inside and out approximately 5 times.
Usage:
It should be noted that Wheel Protector is strictly not recommended on dark or black wheels without a lacquered finish. Indeed, once sprayed, the product must not be wiped for a minimum of 1 hour, and improper application could leave marks that are difficult to recover.
Before any use of Wheel Protector, you will of course need to prepare your surface. A thorough wash/decontamination and ideally a polish of the surfaces would be ideal.
Next, it is essential to degrease your surface using an Oil Cleaner (Eraser is perfect for this, for example).
Make sure to wipe your degreaser thoroughly so that the surface is perfectly dry before applying Wheel Protector.
Then shake the Wheel Protector bottle well before spraying it directly onto the wheel at a distance of approximately 30cm in a fairly even mist without apparent overloading. We strongly recommend wearing a protective mask (ideally with filter cartridges).
Once sprayed (ideally inside and out), you can see that Wheel Protector forms a fairly thick, almost oily-looking layer on the surface.
You must absolutely not dry your coat, nor touch it in any way for a minimum of one hour, or even one and a half hours to be safe. Hence the need to have applied an even coat without overcoating, otherwise product residue will appear.
Then, once the product is dry, you can wipe your wheels with a microfiber. (Black Velvet or Ultra Fine).
However, after spraying your coat, you must absolutely clean any product that has settled on the tire with a degreaser and a microfiber. Do not wait for the product to dry!
In the end, AUTOGLYM Wheel Protector proves to be disconcertingly easy to apply. The ideal situation would be to treat the wheels off the car in order to apply a coat on the inner part of the wheels as well, and above all to make wiping the product easier after drying on the inside.
Beyond the ease of application and wiping, AUTOGLYM claims reduced brake dust deposits, which can be a big plus for easier future maintenance.
A 300ml bottle will treat approximately 5 complete sets of wheels, making it quite an economical product.
Durability is yet to be tested, where AUTOGLYM claims several months.
Wheel Protector is therefore a product to recommend for people looking for simple and effective protection without resorting to technical products such as ceramic products.
