Overview:

We knew ANGELWAX's reputation for natural waxes, but we were less familiar with their work in pure synthetics and ceramics in particular. The Enigma range was until now composed of a hybrid wax (natural wax infused with ceramic), the Enigma Ceramic Wax.

From now on, a brand new 100% synthetic ceramic-based range must be taken into account: Enigma Legacy Titanium Ceramic Coating as well as Enigma Legacy Wheel & Caliper Coating.

ANGELWAX built on their proven expertise with their already highly performing Ti-22 product, further developing the titanium dioxide-based formulation.

The "leitmotiv" of ANGELWAX is to offer protection solutions that are simple to use, both during application and wiping.
In this overview, we will therefore test the ceramic coating for bodywork (Titanium Ceramic Coating) in order to assess what it brings in terms of application.


Usage:

The first thing to note is that the 30ml or 50ml vial of Enigma Legacy Titanium Ceramic Coating is delivered alone in the box. No applicator block, cotton applicator, or suede cloth as is customary with other competing brands.
Somewhat unsettling, especially if you do not plan ahead by simply relying on the complete competitor kits you are used to buying...

You will therefore need to purchase an applicator block, several application suede cloths, and wiping microfibers.

That said, priced at €65.95, this ceramic coating sits in the mid-range and even below some other major English references (GTECHNIQ Crystal Serum Light), even when you factor in purchasing the accessories separately. Only Cquartz by CARPRO is more financially attractive and includes nearly all the accessories. But we will see that Enigma Legacy Titanium Ceramic Coating will make a difference on another level compared to Cquartz.



Make sure to get an applicator block and 3 to 5 suede cloths depending on the size of Enigma Legacy Titanium Ceramic Coating you choose (30ml or 50ml).

Prior to a thorough surface preparation (decontamination and a finishing polish at minimum), make sure to degrease your surface thoroughly with an isopropyl alcohol solution of your choice. Enigma Legacy Titanium Ceramic Coating is a true ceramic that requires perfect degreasing, otherwise it will not bond and oil residues from polishing may rise to the surface, preventing adhesion.



Then, pour a generous line of Enigma Legacy Titanium Ceramic Coating onto your suede cloth wrapped around your chosen applicator block. Intentionally load more product than necessary on the first application.



Apply Enigma Legacy Titanium Ceramic Coating to a defined area of approximately 60x60cm. The application is very easy, not too dry nor too greasy. For example, CQuartz is much drier to apply. Little to no risk of the film breaking unless very little product has been used. The smell is also less present and overpowering.
Always proceed with a criss-cross application (Left-Right/Up-Down).



Once applied, let Enigma Legacy Titanium Ceramic Coating flash for 40 seconds to a maximum of 1 minute at a temperature between 10 and 25°C. If you are approaching the limits, do not hesitate to increase or decrease the flash times accordingly.

The "flash" indicator of this ceramic is not the same as major references like CQuartz or Carlift, which show a fairly noticeable solvent haze. Instead, it is more of a micro-bubbling effect, similar to Crystal Serum Light but less pronounced. The 2 photos below illustrate the transition that occurred after a 40-second flash time at 18°C.





Do not wait any longer before proceeding to wipe. To do so, we recommend wiping with a double-sided microfiber such as the Black Velvet.
First wipe without pressure on the long-pile side to pick up the bulk of the ceramic haze.



ANGELWAX had promised us easy wiping. Delivered. No difficulty (streaking) as with CQuartz in particular, but slightly more demanding than the Carlift or Crystal Serum Light for example.
Hence the benefit of going over with a second Black Velvet microfiber, this time on the short-pile side. Work your wiping thoroughly until you can no longer see any greasy haze in the reflection of your light source.



At the end of your second wipe, you should no longer have any traces of Enigma Legacy Titanium Ceramic Coating on your surface. As a precaution, always finish with a final wipe using a suede cloth (short-pile microfiber). The Cosmo will be perfect for this purpose.



ANGELWAX does not specifically recommend multi-layer application. A single coat on a perfectly prepared surface (decontamination, polishing, degreasing) can last up to 18 months. You will nonetheless gain further in finish quality and longevity with a second coat.

Note that Enigma Legacy Titanium Ceramic Coating is a so-called "physical" ceramic and not a chemical one. It does not harden application microfibers and has very high resistance to chemical agents. Moreover, the feel will be extremely silky once the application is complete.

ANGELWAX also indicates that Enigma Legacy Titanium Ceramic Coating is "toppable", meaning you can subsequently apply a coat of Enigma Ceramic Wax on top for even more roundness in the finish, or alternatively spray Enigma QED.

Of course, you must wait 12 hours before exposing your surfaces to water (rain).

The visual result is in any case extremely high in terms of pure gloss. Color depth is also enhanced — black appears blacker.



After approximately 24 hours, I was able to test the hydrophobic effect (beading) following a light morning rain. The water beads formed are very large, closely packed, and evacuate very easily.



Conclusion:

ANGELWAX makes a strong impression with this new Enigma Legacy range. You find the ease of application of their treatments combined with a very interesting visual result.
A 30ml vial will easily cover a mid-sized sedan twice. However, the downside lies in the fact that you still need to spend a few dozen euros on the accessories essential for application (MF, applicator, etc.).
In our opinion, this treatment is intended for all enthusiasts wishing to venture into ceramic coating application who do not want or can afford little to no hassle during application.
