Angel Wax - Correction protection

Angel Wax is a highly reputed brand for the range and quality of its protections, particularly natural ones.
More recently, the English brand launched its Enigma range, notably featuring their first carnauba-ceramic hybrid wax, called Enigma Ceramic Wax. Angel Wax also offers a synthetic protection based on titanium, the Ti-22, which provides fast and fairly long-lasting protection — an ideal compromise between natural wax and ceramic.
We will also test in this article the Enigma AIO polish, the brand's latest product, which offers a rare versatility.

Enigma AIO:

Once your pre-wash/wash has been carried out with Fast Foam and Enigma Shampoo for example, you will need to proceed with decontamination and then correct your car before protecting it.
If you want to settle for a single product that offers a superb balance between correction and finishing, then Enigma AIO is made for you.



The great advantage of this polish is the ability it offers to direct its action either towards pure cutting with a microfibre, wool or hard foam pad, or towards finishing with an extra-soft pad. It is reminiscent in this respect of another reference from a famous Korean brand — the Essence.

You can therefore use Enigma AIO to both correct and perfectly finish a paint if you have several pads available.

Better still, Enigma AIO has a light ceramic protection (hence its name AIO for All In One, as it will correct and protect at the same time).
Thus, after correcting your paint, it will also be protected for a few months thanks to the ceramic compounds present in the polish.



In this test, we tried Enigma AIO as a pure finishing product on a door that simply showed a fine haze of micro-scratches (wash marring). As a result, we opted for a Finishing HDO pad from Lake Country.

The philosophy of Angel Wax, as we will see throughout this article, is to use very little product. So, to treat half a door panel, 4 pea-sized drops of Enigma AIO are sufficient.



The product feels quite liquid, more in line with an intensive or finishing polish than a pure compound. However, it should be noted that Enigma AIO is labelled as a Compound on the packaging...

Enigma AIO works very well without breaking down too quickly (appearance of the translucent haze), producing relatively little dust in the end. Work it on small sections of approximately 60x60cm in crossed straight passes.





In the end, you can notice, beyond the fact that Enigma AIO perfectly removes a light haze of maintenance wash micro-scratches, that it leaves a sublime finish with a clear gain in depth (the black comes out blacker). See the photo below with the 50/50.



A few other examples of light correction using just a finishing pad. The result is flawless.



You can also appreciate its very silky feel and not-too-greasy wipe-off, which is particularly appreciated on delicate finishes.

Enigma AIO can also be used by hand with a manual pad (such as a German Applicator for example), to polish under door handles for example, or for localised correction.







No heavy correction test in this article, but simply a trial on an oxidised acrylic trim strip with a very hard foam pad (RUPES UHS). The correction and finish are superb.



Overall, an extremely convincing polish. It fits more comfortably in the intensive hard polish category rather than a pure compound, but the ability to use it with all possible pads (wool, microfibre, hard, medium, soft) makes it an absolute weapon. With one product, you can do almost everything.

Stripped-Ease:

An indispensable product within the Angel Wax brand. Stripped-Ease is an Oil Cleaner, meaning a degreaser to be used before applying your synthetic protection coats. Its purpose is to remove all oily residues from previously used polishes or simply to remove an old layer of wax.

This type of product is also called a finish revealer. So, Stripped-Ease will be used after each polishing pass to check our level of correction and finish.



With a strongly alcohol-based formula, Stripped-Ease is a very effective product in its degreasing ability and rapid evaporation. Indeed, it is not as dry as some other well-known major references, and therefore when wiping, there is much less risk of very lightly micro-scratching the base. This is very much appreciated.



Stripped-Ease is quite unsettling to use, but in a good way. You venture off the beaten track by ending up with a product that feels almost "greasy" on application but is very easy to wipe off and perfect for checking the quality of the correction.

Usable on all surfaces, painted or not, it will also be perfect for removing polish residues from bare plastics.

Must be used before applying any ceramic or synthetic treatment, or even a coat of Enigma Ceramic Wax.



Ti-22 Protection:

A titanium-based synthetic protection, multi-surface, offered by Angel Wax. Very well known particularly in Italy, this protection will delight those who still hesitate to move to full ceramic treatments, but who nonetheless want good durability and good resistance to external aggressions.



Ti-22 can be applied to bodywork, wheels, acrylic lights, bare plastics, glass, chrome and other alloys.

There are two possible application methods with Ti-22. Either with a microfibre applicator, or directly on the surface by wiping with a microfibre, in the manner of a quick wax.

The first application technique (with a microfibre pad) will provide better durability. Simply spray a few sprays of Ti-22 onto a microfibre pad (new!). Work element by element in circular movements and straight passes, like any natural or synthetic wax.
Then, you can leave Ti-22 to dwell for one minute or more depending on temperature conditions.





Then proceed to a thorough wipe with a short-pile microfibre, using a second microfibre if needed. If you feel some difficulty wiping off Ti-22, it means you have applied too much. Once again with Angel Wax "Less is best" — the less you apply, the better it will be.



Alternatively, apply it like a traditional Quick Wax. Spray and wipe immediately.



After wiping, you notice an ultra-soft feel and a beautiful shine.

The possible surfaces are numerous and in the end you realise that product consumption is very low. With a 250ml bottle you can easily do 10 to 15 cars.





A product that ultimately brings together many advantages: ease and speed of application, aesthetic result, low consumption.
Angel Wax announces approximately 6 months of durability, which is very decent but remains to be verified depending on the conditions of use of the car.


Enigma Ceramic Wax:

The last product presented in this article, and by no means the least — undoubtedly the Angel Wax product that generated the most buzz in the detailing world several months ago already — the Enigma Ceramic Wax.



A hybrid wax composed of carnauba and, above all, ceramic, available in 33ml or 250ml jars, this wax promises both the finish of carnauba (very warm with lots of depth) with a durability close to a full ceramic treatment. In short, the best of both worlds.

Enigma Ceramic Wax, with its atypical purple colour, does not have the fruity scent usually associated with carnauba waxes, but rather a more cocoa-like scent.

Before any use of Enigma Ceramic Wax, the surface must be properly prepared (decontamination and ideally finishing polish at a minimum). The application of Stripped-Ease seen previously is essential! Do not skip this step.



Enigma Ceramic Wax should be applied using a new foam pad. Above all, do not load the pad with wax. Really, you need to use very, very little — just dab the pad two or three times on top of the jar and that will be enough to treat at least half a bonnet or even a full bonnet.

Apply Enigma Ceramic Wax in circular movements and straight passes. Even at the risk of repeating myself, spread the wax layer as thinly as possible to cover your panel.

The more you apply, the more laborious (greasy) the wipe-off will be.





In the photos, the application is borderline too heavy (better for the photos).

The dwell time of Enigma Ceramic Wax is approximately 2 minutes. First wipe with a longer-pile microfibre, then refine your wipe by reducing the fibre length of your microfibre. Finish if needed with a final suede-type microfibre as for a ceramic treatment.



Although the first wipe proves quite easy, you will ultimately find that the residual greasy film is still present (streaking) and necessarily requires another, finer wipe afterwards. This is somewhat of a drawback with this wax. You will not find the ultra-easy wipe of a pure carnauba but rather that of a ceramic treatment.

That said, once properly wiped, this wax delivers a superb result — ultra-soft, with wonderful reflections and oily effects.
You will get the shine, certainly, but you will get something extra as well.





Overall, Enigma Ceramic Wax proves to be a protection offering quite a unique result. The feel will nonetheless be typical of a carnauba — ultra-soft, very pleasant.

However, pay close attention to the application of this wax. Keep in mind that the less you apply, the better it will be. (Less is best!)


General conclusion on the tested products:

In this article, we have been able to cover a good portion of the protection products offered by the English brand. Known and recognised for its natural waxes in particular, Angel Wax also offers superb synthetic protections such as Ti-22 and Enigma Ceramic Wax.

A true favourite for the application versatility of Ti-22 and its very shiny finish.
Enigma Ceramic Wax offers yet a different result, but will require an application with more attention paid to wipe-off. Make sure you are well-lit for an optimal result.
Angel Wax announces up to over a year per coat for the Enigma Ceramic Wax, which seems a little optimistic but not necessarily unachievable if you maintain it properly.

Another excellent product presented — the Enigma AIO. Quite impressive in terms of versatility, because ultimately with one product and different pads, you can cover 90% of your correction needs.
The protection it leaves after use is also a big plus for those who want a quick preparation.
Angel Wax is ultimately a very interesting brand for the quality of the products presented and especially their originality. A brand for connoisseurs and/or purists who want quality for their vehicle.
