Description
The SDO pads for "Standard Duty Orbital" are designed for polishing with orbital machines. Equipped with a patented CCS Technology™ semi-open cell foam, you will no longer have the problem of pads absorbing too much polish into the cells, drastically reducing cutting performance.
The main difference between the SDO "Standard Duty Orbital" and HDO "Heavy Duty Orbital" pads lies in the presence or absence of an additional interface found on the HDO pads and not on the SDO pads. The rest is identical: foam type, cell pattern, hook-and-loop, etc.
The quality of the foam on the SDO pads will offer the user an excellent polishing experience as it will progressively release the amount of polish onto the surface during polishing. No saturation and lasting cutting performance over time.
Also, the CCS cells will help avoid or at least considerably reduce the very frequent pad bouncing by reducing surface tension.
This SDO CCS Black Finishing Pad should be used for finishing passes on a car in order to remove the very last surface defects such as holograms, hazing, and very fine swirl marks. The finish left using a good finishing polish (e.g.: ZviZZer FC2000) will be absolutely impeccable.
The quality of the foam in this pad will allow you to keep it for a very long time.

How to use the professional Lake Country SDO CCS Black Finishing Pad?
- Carefully select the pad size according to your backing plate size (e.g. a 90mm/3.5' size from Lake Country is suitable for a 75mm/3' machine backing plate).
- Center your pad on your backing plate.
- Apply a large pea-sized drop of polish (e.g. ZviZZer FC 2000 Fine Cut) directly onto the pad in a circular pattern.
- Spread your polish quickly at low speed over an area no larger than 60x60cm.
- Then work your polish at medium speed (speed 4 on a DA or gear-driven DA polisher) using slow, overlapping straight passes.
- Finish your pass when the residual polish film is very thin, almost transparent.
- Wipe off the polish residue with a suitable microfiber towel (e.g. Cocktail Microfibers Black Velvet) using a little Clean Top (alcohol-based).
- Inspect your finish, then apply a protective wax.
Tip: Remember to clean your pad regularly with ZviZZer Pad Cleaner to keep your foam completely free of polish residue. Your workflow and results will be significantly better. Spray Pad Cleaner directly onto the pad, work it in with your fingers, then wipe thoroughly with a microfiber towel or run the pad through a Pad Washer such as the Lake Country System 4000 Pad Washer.
