Description
The SDO pads for "Standard Duty Orbital" are designed for polishing with orbital machines. Equipped with a patented CCS Technology™ semi-open cell foam, you will no longer have the problem of pads absorbing too much polish in the cells, which drastically reduces cutting performance.
The main difference between the SDO "Standard Duty Orbital" and HDO "Heavy Duty Orbital" pads lies in the presence or absence of an additional interface present on the HDO pads and not present on the SDO pads. Everything else is identical: foam type, cell structure, velcro, etc.
The quality of the foam on the SDO pads will offer an excellent polishing experience to the user as it will progressively release the amount of polish onto the surface during polishing. No saturation and sustained cutting performance over time.
Also, the CCS cells will prevent, or at least considerably reduce, the very frequent pad hopping by reducing surface tension.
This SDO CCS Orange Polishing Pad is to be used for standard correction work on a car to remove surface defects such as swirl marks, dull haze and possibly deeper scratches on soft clear coats. The finish left with the use of a good medium cut polish (e.g.: ZviZZer MC3000) will be absolutely impeccable. An excellent pad for "one step" work with correction/finishing performance in one pass.
The quality of the foam on this pad will allow you to keep it for a very long time.

How to use the SDO CCS Orange Polishing Pad professional pad?
- Choose the right pad size according to your backing plate (e.g., a 90mm/3.5" size from Lake Country is suitable for a 75mm/3" machine backing plate).
- Center your pad on your backing plate.
- Apply a generous pea-sized amount of polish (e.g., ZviZZer Medium Cut MC3000) directly onto the pad in a circular bead.
- Spread your polish quickly at low speed over an area not exceeding 60x60cm.
- Then work your polish at medium speed (speed 4 on a dual action or gear-driven polisher) using slow, overlapping straight passes.
- Finish your pass when the residual polish film is very thin, almost transparent.
- Wipe off your polish with a suitable microfiber towel (e.g., Cocktail Microfibers Black Velvet) using a little Clean Top (alcohol-based panel wipe)
- Inspect your finish and follow up with a protective wax.
Tip: Regularly clean your pad with the ZviZZer Pad Cleaner cleaning solution to keep your foam completely free of polish residue. Your workflow and results will be significantly improved. Spray Pad Cleaner directly onto the pad, work it into the foam with your fingers, and then wipe it clean with a microfiber towel or run the pad through a Pad Washer such as the Lake Country System 4000 Pad Washer.
