Description

Salt - 114 is a cleaner and decontaminant for all surfaces to remove salt marks. Its pH-neutral formula will be safe on various surfaces including delicate ones. Ideal on hulls (gel-coat or other), decks, jet skis, sails, ropes, trailers, wetsuits, etc.

Also very effective on blockages in the cooling circuits of inboard and outboard engines.

Use Salt - 114 with complete confidence. It will not damage varnished metals, paints, raw plastics or composites. Better still, it will leave a thin protective layer after application.

Formula to be diluted in a spray bottle. Recommended dilution between 3% and 25%.

How do you use Fictech Salt - 114?

Use in seawater:

  1. Dilution: Dilute Salt - 114 between 3% and 25% depending on the salt deposits to be removed (approx. 1:30 to 1:3).
  2. Application: Spray the solution approximately 15-20 cm from the (cool) surface or immerse parts. 
  3. Agitation: Agitate the surfaces using brushes, deck brushes, or various sponges.
  4. Dwell time: Allow to dwell for a few minutes without ever letting it dry.
  5. Rinse: Rinse thoroughly with clean water to remove any product residue.

Use in fresh water:

  1. Dilution: Dilute Salt - 114 to approximately 5% (1:20). You can adjust slightly depending on the salt deposits to be removed.
  2. Application: Spray the solution approximately 15-20 cm from the (cool) surface or immerse parts. 
  3. Agitation: Agitate the surfaces using brushes, deck brushes, or various sponges.
  4. Dwell time: Allow to dwell for a few minutes without ever letting it dry.
  5. Rinse: Rinse thoroughly with clean water to remove any product residue.

Desalting engine cooling systems:

Small outboard engines

  1. Dilution: Prepare a solution in a fresh water tank with 5 to 20% Salt - 114 (i.e. 1:20 to 1:4).
  2. Application: Immerse the engine lower unit in the solution.
  3. Agitation: Run the engine at idle in a closed loop for 5 to 6 minutes.
  4. Checks: Verify proper discharge flow throughout the operation.

Inboard engines

  1. Preparation: Close the seawater intake valve.
  2. Application: Submerge the intake hose in a tank containing fresh water mixed with Salt - 114 at a concentration of 5 to 20% (i.e. 50 to 200 ml/L).
  3. Agitation: Run the engine in a closed loop for 5 minutes.
  4. Checks: Ensure that the return hose properly redirects the solution into the tank and verify proper flow throughout the entire cleaning process.
