Introduction:

In this presentation, you will be able to discover the different possible solutions to protect and shine (or not) your tyres with the products dedicated to this use in the VALET PRO range.
This brand, very well known and recognised for the quality of its Valeting products, always offers references at an excellent value for money.
We will test the application of the different dressings from the brand on 4 tyres (1 product per tyre) and analyse the differences in application and finish.

The preparation of the surface will be identical for each (degreasing and brushing the surface to remove old dressings and other contaminants present on the surface and inside the rubber).

Test Black to the future:

This product is dedicated to tyre treatment but not only. You can also use it for the treatment of all raw exterior plastics and seals.

It is an atypical product in the sense that it comes in the form of a pot like a carnauba wax. The scent of the product when opening the pot is really very pleasant.

However, you will notice a very creamy texture, neither completely liquid nor solid. As such, it will be necessary to use a foam pad but to be careful not to apply too much. This special texture is quite difficult to dose.



Black To The Future applies easily afterwards but make sure to spread the product across the tyre sidewall to even out the layer.





The finish after application is slightly glossy, giving the surface a very satin look overall. Do not hesitate to wipe off the excess with an old microfibre cloth to matt down the whole thing if you find the look too shiny.

Visually and to the touch, it is satisfactory — not completely shiny like some other well-known references from other brands, nor completely matt.





Test Classic Protectant:

This product is a truly versatile product as it was originally designed for the treatment of interior plastic surfaces. Its finish on these surfaces is reputed to be very slightly satin, so the same type of finish should be expected on tyres.

The advantage of this product is that it is water-resistant, making it perfectly suitable for exterior plastics as well.



I strongly recommend applying Classic Protectant directly onto a foam applicator rather than onto the tyre for the simple reason that it comes in a spray bottle. This way you will avoid getting it all over the rim.





After spreading the product well — much easier than Black To The Future due to the more liquid texture — the finish appears truly satin. Less shiny than Black To The Future but still leaving a visible treated finish. A very beautiful result overall.

Test Classic Tyre Dressing:

This recently launched product by the British brand promises a near-matt finish for those who do not appreciate overly eye-catching finishes. On a silicone base but with biological solvent agents, Classic Tyre Dressing will also be water-resistant.



An immediate criticism that can be made of this product is the absence of a pour spout (flip-flop type). Indeed, when the simple cap is opened, the product is so liquid that it will be almost impossible to correctly dose the amount of product to apply to your applicator pad without applying too much.

The second remark is that the texture is very liquid and tends to foam during application, particularly when passing over the textures of the tyre sidewall. Somewhat unsettling but not fundamentally problematic either.





On the other hand, the finish after application is really very matt. It would be hard to find a mattter finish for enthusiasts of the genre. VALET PRO announces a "subtly shiny tyre finish" — it really could not be more subtle.





Test Maximum Shine Tyre Gel:

Also launched fairly recently by the brand, Maximum Shine Tyre Gel sets the tone with a name that leaves no room for doubt. The finish should be as shiny as desired.

The citrus-based scent is pleasant, and the gel texture makes application onto the pad easy. It remains liquid but far from that of Classic Tyre Dressing.



The layer of product spreads easily across the tyre sidewall and indeed a very shiny finish appears immediately. Do not hesitate therefore to even out the application of the product thoroughly to avoid having residual greasy patches.






With the previous dressings presented, buffing (wiping) the product was recommended; here with Maximum Shine Tyre Gel, it becomes almost mandatory given how shiny the product is after application.

Wipe off the excess with an old microfibre cloth dedicated to dirty work.




General conclusion:

VALET PRO, true to its reputation, once again offers quality products at a very affordable price, for all tastes. Whether you want a very matt or a very shiny finish, you will find the right product.
A few minor adjustments to the bottles in particular (Classic Tyre Dressing) would allow for easier application.

We know the brand's usual large-volume packaging with an unbeatable quantity-to-price ratio. It would therefore be interesting to find all these products in such volumes, particularly for professionals (Classic Protectant and Classic Tyre Dressing already exist in 5L).

The durability of the products remains to be tested. Many parameters come into play at this level to accurately assess a verified durability (daily mileage, weather, storage conditions, future maintenance, tyre brand, etc.). Bear in mind in any case that a tyre dressing is one of the most short-lived protection products out there. Do not therefore expect more than one or even two weeks of hold for the most durable ones on silicone bases.
