VALET PRO offers us with Foamula one of its latest products in terms of pre-wash. The base remains pH neutral like the famous Ph Neutral Snow Foam, but with a cleaning agent allowing improved degreasing and elimination of surface contaminants.
Available in 1L or 5L, it can be used with a foam lance or simply with a basic or pre-pressure sprayer.
Description:
Pre-washing is an essential step in the Detailing process, in order to soften or even remove the layer of road grease present on the surface of the paintwork.
Foamula One was designed with this in mind. It offers a very satisfying cleaning action while preserving your natural or synthetic protection on your car (pH Neutral).
If you do not have a foam cannon, Foamula One can be used directly in a basic or pre-pressure sprayer.
There is no need to add a shampoo or another foaming agent with Foamula One.
Use with a sprayer:
Dilute approximately 80ml of Foamula One in a one-litre sprayer and top up with warm water. If needed, overdose on product if you absolutely want a generous foam.
The first thing you notice when opening the container is the very pleasant green apple scent that escapes from it.
You can use Foamula One all over the exterior of the vehicle (wheel arches, rims, bodywork, etc.). Spray, agitate as needed with brushes and leave to dwell for 2/3 min, no longer.
In this application and with a non-foaming container, the texture of Foamula One is quite liquid but the film on the surface still softens the dirt effectively and encapsulates it sufficiently to then be removed in whole or in part during high-pressure rinsing.
Foamula One can also be used to clean window rubbers and other gaps in the vehicle during this pre-wash phase.
Use with a foam cannon (foam lance):
In the reservoir of your foam lance, also dilute between 60 and 100ml of Foamula One depending on how dirty your car is and top up with warm water.
Start spraying the product on the lower parts and then work upward so as to create a sufficient foam film without overloading.
The foam generated in our test (80ml of product) on a fairly dirty but treated vehicle is very satisfying, without forming a totally ineffective whipped-cream-type layer. The film is well-stretched, allowing a good dwell.
Let the film dwell for approximately 2-3 min, agitating gaps as needed, then proceed to rinsing.
You should see the film thinning during the dwell, ending up with a thin curtain of foam on the surface until the film breaks, at which point rinsing should be carried out.
It will be noted that Foamula One preserves the protections applied to the vehicle well, with beading still present on the surface (water-repellent effect).
The vehicle comes out surprisingly very clean after rinsing for a pH neutral solution. We are used to seeing strong degreasing power in alkaline pre-wash products, but on a pH Neutral base that is respectful of waxes, the result is convincing.
Finish by washing with a shampoo however, as a pre-wash alone will never be sufficient to properly clean a vehicle. Mechanical contact action is required.
Conclusion:
Pleasantly surprised by the cleaning effectiveness of Foamula One on a pH neutral base, this is a very interesting reference for maintenance pre-washes on a waxed base.
The scent (which remains subjective) is very pleasant — it is worth highlighting this as some competing products have a pronounced detergent smell that is less appealing.
The consumption of Foamula One is ultimately acceptable. Expect an average of 60-80ml in a foam cannon, a little more in a sprayer, which is in line with the average.
Ultimately, a product even better than the Ph Neutral in our opinion, taking its strengths and foundations while offering a more advanced formulation.
