Overview:

A brand relatively unknown in France yet extremely popular in the United States, TURTLE WAX recently launched its Hybrid Solutions range. This new range brings together ceramic-based products with sprayable protection solutions and a maintenance shampoo. It is the latter that we will test in this article: Ceramic Wash&Wax.

This shampoo is intended for use on vehicles that have already been treated with a ceramic coating. It will help boost the silica layer by reactivating the surface hydrophobic effect.

Usage:

Ceramic Wash&Wax can also be used in the pre-wash phase with a foam cannon, particularly if the vehicle shows a notable level of dirt, as is the case with the test vehicle.

On this vehicle, a genuine ceramic protection was applied except on the hood, where a spray solution (ceramic quick wax) was simply applied.





For use in the pre-wash phase with a foam cannon, measure approximately 60ml of Ceramic Wash&Wax shampoo. You must also add a standard agent such as the one from the brand VALET PRO (Ph Neutral). Indeed, Ceramic Wash&Wax does not have great foaming power and otherwise your pre-wash film will not be dense enough and will not adhere sufficiently to the bodywork.





The shampoo's scent is pleasant, quite fruity. The texture is very liquid and differs greatly from the shampoos typically encountered, which are very viscous.

The pre-wash film applied on a dry surface holds very well and for a long time, is not too thick (remember to adjust your foam lance carefully). Ceramic Wash&Wax does not leave marks on the base.
However, its cleaning capacity is limited. Do not expect great degreasing action from this shampoo. It is indeed a maintenance shampoo.





At rinsing, on the parts of the car where the road grime film is not too deeply ingrained, the hydrophobic effect linked to the base treatment is preserved and even enhanced. However, on the lower parts of the vehicle, the film is not broken and therefore requires mechanical action (washing with a mitt).





In the wash phase using the two-bucket technique, Ceramic Wash&Wax offers a very interesting characteristic: an incredible slick effect.

Indeed, on the left side of the vehicle, the hot water from the wash bucket alters the surface hydrophobic effect. Ceramic Wash&Wax cleans perfectly with very good lubrication capacity but presents at rinsing a very compelling slick effect. The water gathers on its own before draining away (sheeting). This is a very interesting characteristic as it will greatly facilitate the drying of the car afterwards.







A simple cold-water rinse afterwards in shower mode will allow you to verify the ability of Ceramic Wash&Wax to reactivate the hydrophobic effect on the surface.



Another test on elements treated with a genuine ceramic treatment beforehand.
On the test door, the road grime haze still present on the surface can be seen, blocking the hydrophobicity of the treatment.
After cleaning with Ceramic Wash&Wax, the surface is found to be perfectly clean on one hand, and above all with hydrophobicity restored. The feel when passing the mitt is also much more slick. The protective aspect brought along is also noticeable, with a notable tension created on the surface.







Ceramic Wash&Wax ranks among the most effective shampoos on this very point (reactivation of the applied protection). It should therefore be used on ceramic-protected vehicles only, otherwise it will have little interest. Not that it is incompatible with an untreated vehicle, but it would be wasting the product and it will not deliver its full potential.

Below, in the photo, one can clearly see the reactivation of the surface hydrophobic side between the washed door and the one not yet washed. Same on the trunk lid in a 50/50 split, where washing was extremely easy (triple ceramic layer).






One last possible application method with Ceramic Wash&Wax to further boost ceramic protection: applying the shampoo directly onto the mitt once the vehicle has been washed and rinsed.

Pour a little pure shampoo directly onto your wash mitt and apply directly to the bodywork.



This technique will considerably reinforce the protection on your paintwork. You can feel it when running the mitt over the surface — the paint gains even more in feel and the slick effect is much more pronounced. The hydrophobic effect at rinsing is then maximal.

Rinse your vehicle one final time and dry it immediately with your favorite microfiber towel.
The finish left by Ceramic Wash&Wax is truly very glossy. The metallic black takes on a great deal of shine. This is quite logical in itself, as the composition of Ceramic Wash&Wax contains ceramic and therefore reinforces the already glossy protection.





Conclusion:

TURTLE WAX truly offers an excellent shampoo on more than one level. First and foremost, Ceramic Wash&Wax delivers on its promises in terms of cleaning on a treated vehicle — it is capable of perfectly cutting through the road grime haze inevitably present on the vehicle. Better still, it reinforces your protection with each wash by considerably reactivating your applied ceramic protection (even more compelling with the mitt technique).
Another benefit derived from this product is the gloss left afterwards. The vehicle comes out looking as if it had just been freshly protected.

The only downside will be the lack of foam generated by the shampoo, which may bother some of you. Foam does not wash, but I concede that it is an important psychological criterion.
Also, the cleaning power of Ceramic Wash&Wax in the pre-wash phase is not outstanding, but it is indeed a maintenance shampoo.

An excellent product therefore, which also proves to be very economically attractive: €16.95/1.42L

A must-try and must-have!
