Description:
KOCH CHEMIE offers a silicone-free plastic dressing with very high durability and above all resistant to regular washing. Its UV protection will prevent exterior plastics from drying out as well as oxidizing (particularly ABS plastics) with the appearance of the well-known whitish film.
Usage:
First, degrease your surfaces thoroughly (KOCH CHEMIE Green Star is perfect for this, at a 1:10 dilution for example). Then, depending on the surface to be treated, pour a few drops of Plast Star onto a foam applicator (W-APS type) or directly onto a microfiber.
Be very careful as the product is completely liquid (similar to water) compared to other plastic dressings we know on a silicone base.
Spread the product well over the surface to be treated without overloading it. Wipe off the excess quickly without letting it dry, to achieve a nicely matte, deep black finish with no greasy feel to the touch. This product is silicone-free.
Plast Star can also be applied to exterior seals, or even to tires with prior degreasing, always with the aim of promoting product adhesion.
The application on rubbers and gaskets did not convince us, partly due to the amount of product needed to properly "satin" the rubber, and partly due to some marks noticed after light wiping.
Once properly applied, the finish left on these surfaces is however very good, true to the original without any "bling-bling" look, which we greatly appreciate.
Conclusion:
Plast Star can be somewhat disconcerting at first as it is completely liquid and one tends to apply more of it onto the pad. This is a mistake, as the product "spreads" well and doing so would waste product for an identical result. The finish left on bare plastics is excellent.
Only the application on seals and tires did not particularly win us over, but as with any dressing, the application and the result vary enormously depending on the type of rubber.
