Glossy, a plastic dressing on a ceramic base by FICTECH

FICTECH is a highly reputed brand in the field of synthetic ceramic-based treatments. It comes as no surprise then to discover Glossy, a multi-surface ceramic-based dressing.
Glossy demonstrates rare versatility. You can use it on almost all raw elastomer and plastic surfaces: faded bumpers, seals, tires, wheel arches, etc.
Usage:
Glossy is a highly versatile product thanks to its possible dilution ratios: used neat, the result will be very pronounced, glossy, and also more durable over time. Generally, the dilution observed with this product will be between 1:1 and 1:4 with demineralized water.
To do this, use an ideally graduated dilution bottle to prepare your dilutions.
Next, you can choose to apply it either with a standard foam applicator or directly with a microfiber cloth.
In the chosen dilution bottle, we will dilute 200ml of product for a volume of 600ml, i.e. a 1:2 dilution.
When sprayed, the product is very liquid — do not overload the applicator as Glossy spreads easily on the surface.
We are already testing Glossy on a raw exterior plastic that has been slightly faded by the sun.
The first thing to do is to thoroughly degrease the surface, as always. Paddock can work perfectly for this.
The application of Glossy on the surface is quite liquid with the diluted product. Only a small amount of product is needed. The result at this dilution is truly soft. Do not expect a very greasy-looking finish, contrary to what the name Glossy might suggest.
Some ceramic-based dressings often leave streaks upon application, and they need to be spread out very carefully to avoid this. Glossy appears to leave no streaks on application. That said, the result may vary depending on the type of plastic on the surface.
Let's also test Glossy on even more weathered wheel arches. The dilution shifts to 1:1 (1 part product to 1 part water). The same preparation is needed, this time with an APC (Fictech's APC will be perfect at a 1:5 dilution).
The result at this dilution is glossier, yes, but also more pleasant to apply as it is less liquid.
Glossy thus nicely revives wheel arches.
Another possible use is as a tire dressing. More generally, any elastomer material (seals, hoses, etc.) can be treated with Glossy.
In the following examples, we used Glossy neat, to judge whether the application was different and whether the finish was not too shiny. The seals are really well restored, coming back to a deep black. For the tires, the look is a bit too glossy and requires mandatory buffing.
Conclusion:
In the end, Glossy can very easily be compared to CARPRO's Perl — both in terms of versatility of use, dilution options, and the finish left behind.
Glossy is truly a semi-repigmenting dressing. It will not be permanent like a Car Lift Restorer, but it will be perfect for regular maintenance on newer vehicles.
The advantage of treating your plastics, seals, and tires with Glossy is that you will protect them from sun and moon aging, winter salt, and any other aggression. They will also be much easier to clean.
Note that you can also treat your interior plastics with a 1:4 dilution, however, so as not to leave too satin-like a finish.
