Description: Essence is the latest innovation from the brand CarPro. It is a blend of long-lasting protection and a polish loaded with fine abrasives. It leaves an ultra-glossy finish and is composed of semi-permanent fillers to fill remaining micro-scratches.
Instructions for use: Essence is an extremely easy product to apply. However, it can be used in several ways, for different results. We therefore tested this product for you.
1) Case #1: Finish polishing on a heavily micro-scratched area.
We split the area in two and will start polishing on the right side using a Rupes Bigfoot 15mm, a finishing pad, and Essence, Carpro.
The result is striking, but one pass is of course far from sufficient to address the numerous defects. We also note that using a finishing pad prevents us from removing the most pronounced scratches. However, this leads us to believe that the result can be very interesting on a lightly micro-scratched vehicle.
1) Case #2: Abrasive polishing on a heavily micro-scratched area.
The bottle indicates that we can also increase its cutting power by using a microfiber pad. This is therefore an intensive polish, which can be used in different ways depending on the polishing pad chosen. We tested it with a Meguiars DA Microfiber Cutting Pad.
The result is better. You can feel that the cutting power of the polishing pad allows it to express its full abrasivity. However, we also notice the appearance of holograms (typical with an MF pad). This is an intensive polish that may therefore be slightly too weak to remove heavy defects, but it gets the job done on the rest of the bodywork.
Case #3: Long-lasting protection
This product is not a simple polish. It also contains SiO2 (a component found in ceramic coatings) and therefore offers fairly long-lasting protection.
Attention! It is imperative to clean the pad thoroughly after use so that the SiO2 does not harden the surface and render it unusable.
However, CarPro advises against using it without additional protection. It is therefore an excellent base coat before applying a Cquartz or a Reload. It also simplifies the application of this type of treatment.
As you can see in the photo below, the protection is clearly present! Note, however, that it is normal for a freshly polished area to show slight beading even without protection. Time will tell how this evolves (paint surface tension).

Disadvantages
- The fact that this product contains ceramic requires you to clean the pads thoroughly after use
- The presence of fillers. At Maniac-Auto we prefer to eliminate defects rather than hiding some of them!
Our opinion: This is a very good product! Highly innovative. It can be compared to an AIO but that is not exactly the case. Indeed, its cutting power is stronger than that of an AIO and above all its protection is far more significant (in fact, an AIO offers very limited protection).
