Discovering CARPRO Lift and its degreasing action on a car body

CARPRO presented a few months ago its latest new products, including its new pre-wash agent called Lift. This product is therefore intended for use in the pre-wash phase with a high detergent capacity. A highly concentrated formula, Lift will serve to significantly rough-clean vehicles before renovation or for maintenance of vehicles driven a lot and in all weather conditions.
Available at Maniac-Auto since recently, we wanted to test it for you and share our impressions.
Usage:
Lift is the equivalent of an M7 from ALCHIMY7 or a Primus from LABO COSMETICA, for example.
To be used in the degreasing phase of a neglected base or before any detailing operation.
Upon opening the bottle, the smell is not as unpleasant as the M7 or Foam Bubble for example, where you can clearly smell the potash base. It is not as pleasant as a Primus (LABO COSMETICA are very good at scenting their products) but it is acceptable.
The dosage recommended by CARPRO is 1:10, which is approximately 90ml in a 1000ml reservoir (90ml for 900ml of water). Ideally top up with warm water to further activate the foaming power.
We tested Lift with a Karcher Pro delivering 500L/h at 150 bar.
Preferably use Lift on a dry and cold surface; the film will adhere better to the substrate.
The test vehicle has no or no longer any protection on the bodywork. The surface is quite dirty and has a heavy road film. The wheel arches and rims are also very dirty.
Spray your solution starting from the lower parts. Lift turns out to be nicely foaming but not excessively so, as an M7 from ALCHIMY7 can be for example. This is actually better, because with a poor setting you quickly end up with too thick a layer of foam that peels off in patches.
Here, you get a nice foam curtain with just the right flow. You could slightly overdose (100ml instead of 90ml) to get even more foam, but it is not essential. 
Leave Lift to dwell for several minutes (ideally 3 to 5 minutes) depending on weather conditions. Rinse quickly if it is hot, however.
We also notice that the Lift film holds very well on the surface of the car. Somewhat like the Primus from LABO COSMETICA. 
CARPRO announces a pH for Lift of around 13, which is highly alkaline. The very composition of Lift contains alkyl-based detergents. This is immediately noticeable as the degreasing power is very good. Cleaning of wheel arches and rims is made easier, and rinsing afterwards with a jet will take care of the rest.
After approximately 3 minutes, rinse thoroughly with high pressure. The greasy road film is largely removed, but there are still some areas that could be improved. You can see the limits of a pre-wash without mechanical action. Only a thorough hand wash will remove what remains.
But Lift still allows you to significantly rough-clean the surface and soften the remainder to make your wash easier.
Although Lift is a "hard" pre-wash agent and therefore primarily reserved for pre-washes before renovation, you can nonetheless use Lift to pre-wash your ceramic-treated car more periodically (every 5/6 washes) in order to properly degrease the treatment from road grime.
Conclusion:
Lift is overall a pleasant surprise in the sense that its degreasing action is convincing on heavy layers of dirt. It may be a little limited when it comes to completely removing the greasy road film, or you will need to try slightly overdosing it.
You will appreciate the foam film created in just the right amount. Its staying power on the bodywork also allows you to treat seals, plastics and other exterior details in the meantime without the film drying out too quickly.
In terms of price, Lift is sold at €15.95 per litre. This is in the average range, identical to Primus and M7. The dilution ratio, however, means it will be less economical than the M7 (90ml/L for Lift versus 60ml/L for the M7).
Lift was truly the missing element in the CARPRO range. A good product overall, it will delight fans of the brand and help convert others.
