Black vehicle protection
Why do it?
A black vehicle is very demanding to maintain on a daily basis. Hence the importance of nourishing the paint and protecting it durably with products specifically designed for black vehicles, in order to facilitate future maintenance and prevent various contaminants (tree sap, bird droppings, ...) from bonding to the paint.
Step n°1: In which situation(s)?
If the vehicle is parked outside and/or used on a daily basis, it is strongly recommended to protect it durably in order to prevent paint oxidation and color dulling. Also, for "pleasure" vehicles that only come out a few times a month, natural carnauba waxes can also be applied for a brilliant finish.
Step n°2: Choice of products to use
The first step, especially for older vehicles, is to nourish the paint with a polish (glaze in English). The flagship product for black cars is "Blacklight" by CHEMICAL GUYS, to be applied by hand or by machine. It also contains some polymer agents to protect the vehicle. Then, a protective wax "Pete's 53" by CHEMICAL GUYS should be applied for more protection and a glossier finish. To be applied by hand only.
