ANGELWAX Resurrection: A Versatile Compound

ANGEL WAX Resurrection is the hardest polish in the range. A compound with a very good cutting ability (defect correction) but also an excellent finish. Very few polishes currently on the market allow this.

This article will allow us to put Resurrection in an unfavorable situation, namely a soft clear coat presenting quite a few various defects.

It will therefore be interesting to see the correction capacity of the polish while maintaining an excellent deliverable finish.


Presentation:



With a cut of 9 and a gloss of 3, the characteristics of Resurrection suggest an abrasive much more oriented toward cutting than finishing, but we will see that this is not the case at all.

The advantage of Resurrection is therefore its ability to perfectly combine correction and finishing. As such, it is possible to use it with almost all pads on the market, ranging from the hardest (microfiber) to the semi-finishing pad.



The test vehicle is a Toyota with a fairly delicate clear coat presenting a good number of defects (holograms, embedded insects, various micro-scratches and widespread dull haze).

We are testing Resurrection with an Orange pad from Fictech, which is a Medium Cut, to try to get the best out of the polish from a finishing standpoint while allowing the necessary correction to remove the majority of the defects present.





A few pea-sized amounts of Resurrection on the pad is enough — there is no need to use too much.
The polish spreads easily (fairly fluid texture) but is not too liquid like a Sonax Profiline range polish for example. There is also an advantage to having a polish that is not too liquid, especially when using a pad with a fairly open-cell foam, in order to avoid too much splatter.





The advantage of Resurrection is that you can work it for a long time and even go as far as "breaking the polish" (appearance of a translucent haze) to maximize the finish, including with an orbital machine. Below, the photo shows the residual polish haze after working, before wiping off.



Resurrection is an overall fairly easy polish to wipe off, which does not stick too much under the microfiber.
However, AngelWax announces Resurrection as a polish that produces little dust. This does not reflect reality. It still produces quite a bit of dust during use, especially if you use it with an open-cell foam pad. You can see this on the hood after a few passes. Some dust particles are noticeable. Also, on the pad, you will need to clean the foam frequently (attached photo from another test with a different pad but with the same polish).





Nevertheless, on our test car with the delicate clear coat, the result is undeniable after just one pass. A superb cut (the vast majority of defects are gone) and a deliverable finish without any issue.

Resurrection is one of the rare polishes on the market to allow such a good balance between cut/finish.

We also wanted to test Resurrection on a black section in order to better observe its finishing power. Black being unforgiving, it will be our ultimate judge.

After working Resurrection with the same pad as before at speed 6 on the orbital, once again the polish does not disappoint. No finishing defects are to be found. Admittedly, an ultra-finishing polish could add a further boost to the gloss, but honestly the level achieved by this compound is still remarkable.

General conclusion:

ANGELWAX really hits hard with this polish. Rarely versatile, and with an excellent finish, it will meet all common needs. It does not have the strongest abrasive power on the market, but it is among the references in terms of cut/finish.
The negative point is undoubtedly the dust it eventually generates on foam pads. Compared to the Profiline range for example, Resurrection will produce more dust during use.

Available in 250ml and 1L formats, the pricing of the polish will not be among the best on the market but not the most expensive either. It is also worth knowing that a 250ml bottle is more than enough to cover the needs for the restoration of several vehicles. There is ultimately no need to use too much polish.

Ultimately, Resurrection is a reference among compounds and will rank among the products to have in your detailer's kit.
