Today we invite you to discover a pad/polish combination that works very well on delicate colors (varnished black, direct gloss, etc.) with an excellent correction/finishing ratio. It is the P3000 polish and the fine pink F foam from the French brand ALCHIMY7.

P3000 is part of the well-known (and recognized) Correcta abrasive range from the brand. This range consists of three polishes across three existing abrasive grades: P1000, P3000, P7000.

The P3000 polish is an intensive, "medium cut" polish, allowing both good correction and above all a defect-free deliverable finish. This polish range is recommended for "car staging" operations or for correcting very fine defects on recent vehicles when only a single polishing pass is desired.

The pink F polishing foam from ALCHIMY7 is less well known. It is a finishing pad with a low foam density but a fairly open texture.

The brand's polishing foam range is highly developed to address all encountered defects, and the pink F foam is classified among the finishing pads.

The combination chosen today is therefore a pairing of a medium polish with a finishing foam. The test vehicle's color is a very delicate solid black (Tesla Model 3). The goal of the chosen combination is to eliminate or reduce surface defects in line with the customer's request while allowing a defect-free finish.
It is often very difficult to find an effective combination on this type of color, which is very challenging to work with.


Usage:

Let's look in more detail at the pink F foam from ALCHIMY7. It always features the same conical cut, very useful in particular for polishing panel edges. The chamfered cut of the pad edge allows better durability of the foam on this very fragile part.





Also, the low density of the foam allows it to conform to all the shapes of the car (curved doors, rear wings, etc.). This is in any case often the trick used to polish very curved shapes: use a softer pad with a harder polish.



Regarding the P3000, the product label gives a clear idea of the polish's capabilities in terms of cut and finish. The promise is impressive: a cut capable of recovering a 2000-grit sanding mark (likely wet) and an almost maximum gloss level.





The chosen working base is not catastrophic. A few veils of micro-scratches, a few deeper scratches. The concern is that the color is varnished, therefore very fragile, and the defects are inherently more ingrained and above all more visible (mirror effect).

The most challenging aspect on this type of color will be achieving a perfect finish. Tesla varnishes also tend to sink in, which will allow for a thorough test of P3000's finishing capability.






Four pea-sized drops of P3000 polish are applied to the pad and a test panel is treated.
P3000 is not excessively liquid, compared to the Profiline range from SONAX for example. The consistency of P3000 could be compared to that of MENZERNA polishes for example.



Working with the polish is very pleasant. P3000 spreads perfectly and generates little dust during work. The pink F foam from ALCHIMY7 also greatly contributes to the ease of use provided by the combination.

The result obtained shows that the fine micro-scratches have completely disappeared, leaving an exemplary finish. This is ultimately the goal we were aiming for: improving the base while finishing perfectly. Of course, the deepest defects are still present.

Black lacquered elements (mass-tinted plastic) also benefit from good correction/finishing.





Overall, the aesthetic result achieved by the combination is really very good. This solid black regains a great deal of depth and overall brilliance.

The advantage of using these combinations with a soft pad is that you wear out your pad very little during your work. A single 5' pad and another 3' pad were sufficient to complete this work in a "one step" process. The pink F foam does not deteriorate, or very little on the edges or under compression, allowing a consistent finish throughout.








Conclusion:

In summary, the P3000 + pink pad combination from ALCHIMY7 proves to be very effective in terms of the expected correction/finishing ratio. Don't expect to correct a varnish with this type of combination, but if you want to work in a single step and refresh the base, it will be perfect.
If needed, on a more degraded base in terms of micro-scratches and on a more forgiving color (light grey, medium grey, etc.) you can opt for a more aggressive pad while keeping the P3000. You will then have a more aggressive combination that will not leave any background defects detrimental to the final result.

P3000 produces little dust during work, but still more than the more fluid polishes from brands like SONAX for example.
