ALCHIMY7 Gentle Wheel Cleaner

Presentation:

Some wheel finishes are very delicate to maintain: chrome, satin, polished edges, etc.
Likewise, there are often other elements besides wheels that are very delicate, such as window trims for example.

If you use products with a strongly alkaline pH, you risk permanently marking your wheels and other sensitive elements. Whitish streaks can become embedded, and worse, some marks (transfers) might not come off at all.

Thus, ALCHIMY7 addressed this problem by launching a specific wheel cleaner for this type of finish: the Gentle Wheel Cleaner.

With a neutral pH, it will be perfectly suited for maintaining your wheels. It will be respectful of protection treatments applied on a natural or synthetic basis.

Available in a 470ml format, this product is ready to use.





Usage:

As always, you should always spray the product on a cold wheel without exception. Whether the product has a neutral pH or not, surface catalysis always occurs on a warm surface, so be particularly careful.
Alternatively, you can spray Gentle Wheel Cleaner on a pre-wetted wheel to bring down the temperature of the surfaces.

The test wheel is particularly well-suited for testing this product.
Indeed, the finish is black lacquered, very fragile and prone to marking, and above all, the edge is polished. Extra care must therefore be taken not to use wheel cleaners with an acid or strongly alkaline base.



First observation upon opening the bottle: the smell is neither acrid nor aggressive to the nose. Indeed, products with an acid or strongly alkaline base often sting the nose.
Here, the Gentle Wheel Cleaner almost smells pleasant...



Once sprayed, the product is very liquid. It therefore runs (too) quickly on surfaces. This can become an issue if you pre-rinse your wheels. Consider fitting a "foamer trigger" if necessary (foam nozzle).



Don't hesitate to agitate the Gentle Wheel Cleaner with brushes, a mitt, and a brush to improve effectiveness. Indeed, the latter is quite limited on ingrained dirt and will be non-existent on ingrained iron deposits. Then again, that's not what it's designed for...





I ran a test with a foam nozzle and agitating with a brush; the product holds better on the wheel surface.



In order to verify the "harmless" aspect of the product on these very fragile surfaces, I worked in full sunlight and let the product act for a few minutes.
As a general rule, avoid working in full sunlight and above all do not let products act or remain on the surface for too long.

Then proceed to rinse with clean water.



The finish left on the wheel once rinsed is excellent. At least as good as with the Iron7HD from the same brand.
A rather interesting slick effect is also noticeable. Water does not pool on the surface.

Most importantly, no visible degradation is observed on the polished edge.




As expected, however, the cleaning action is limited. This is noticeable on the wheel barrel: surface dirt came off without difficulty, but ingrained dirt is still very much present.


Conclusion:

The Gentle Wheel Cleaner ultimately delivers on its promises. It does exactly what is asked of it, namely cleaning without damaging surfaces. It will be absolutely perfect for maintaining any wheel protection you may have applied: natural or synthetic.
Do not expect deep cleaning action from this product. There's no point using it on unprotected wheels that have covered several thousand kilometres, for example...

Use it in the maintenance phase for those who are keen on maintaining their protection and cleaning their vehicle regularly.
